The Topia Marketing agency will be working intimately with Lastminute.com.au to generate original marketing ideas to propel the Lastminute.com.au business. With the initial work from the agency due in December 2007, expectations are high.

Specific information of the names and numbers of the other agencies who participated in the pitch were left undisclosed, however speculation indicates that there were five other marketing agencies involved in the bid for the business.

The travel category is a competitive one, so we are excited about the challenges this client represents and believe that Topia will produce some outstanding results with our unique approach.

“We’re looking forward to breaking the mould in online travel advertising and increasing market share for Lastminute.com.au as a result.”

Lastminute marketing executive Michael Edwards commented: “Topia were exactly what we were looking for – young, fresh, really creative and their approach has meant that they’ve already added enormous value. We look forward to achieving some great things together.”

One of my pet hates in the personal development world are the self righteous, smug gurus that want to tell you that they can heal you with love and all you need to do is hug strangers. The sad fact is that a lot of NLP Trainers don’t always walk their talk and many of them are not quite as self-developed as they would like you to think.

Just as an example there are many NLP Trainers that talk in depth about building and maintaining great personal and professional relationships. I know of some of the big Personal Development ‘names’ that have several fail marriages and change business partners more often than their underwear. Shouldn’t they know enough to be able to make this work well for themselves?

The NLP Community is divided with many trainers disagreeing with each other and several suing each other at regular intervals. If NLP Coaching is about communications should these trainers have the skills to solve their difference without having to resort to court and bad mouthing one another?

Does all this mean that NLP does not work, that these trainers are not walking their talk or is there something else going on?

The reality is somewhere between all three. The foundations of NLP are about a pragmatic way of achieving success for yourself. A good NLP Practitioner Course will give you an attitude, a methodology and techniques to be able to model success. Great NLP Training will then let you discover for yourself how you will use this information.

NLP Training when delivered properly is empowering and will set you on a road to your own personal and professional success. But the nature of empowerment is that you will go in the directions you choose and for your own reasons. So just because you have really powerful communication tools sometimes you might consider it in your best interests to doing things differently even if it is not a demonstration of great communication techniques.

If you have the attitude, methodology and tools to create great success in every area of your life you might have a tendency to set high standards and expectations, both of yourself and of others and possibly be less tolerant of not meeting these expectations.
